Canada's Wayne Middaugh has been inducted into the World Curling Hall of Fame.

World Curling announced Thursday that three inductees — Middaugh, Finland's Olli Rissanen and Sweden's Team Peja Lindholm — were enshrined during the 2024-25 season.

Middaugh is the only player to win gold medals at the World Men's Curling Championship at three different positions. He won his first in 1993 while playing second for Russ Howard, skipped his own squad to the title in 1998, and claimed his third in 2012 while playing third for Glenn Howard.

The Victoria Harbour, Ont., native was also instrumental in the rise of the Grand Slam of Curling as one of the Original 18 skips who chose to support the series over Brier playdowns during its early years. Middaugh won 15 Grand Slam titles, including eight as a skip.

Team Lindholm — Peja Lindholm, Tomas Nordin, Magnus Swartling and Peter Narup — captured three World Men's Curling Championship gold medals (1997, 2001 and 2004) and represented Sweden three times at the Winter Olympics.

Rissanen, who was inducted as a builder, served as president of the Finnish Curling Association for 22 years.
