Laura Walker is returning to women's curling with Team Serena Gray-Withers next season.
The Edmonton club made the announcement Monday on social media.
"Laura’s experience at the highest levels of competition brings valuable perspective and composure to our team," the team said. "This addition marks an exciting step as we set our sights on the next Olympic cycle.
"With a shared commitment to performance and teamwork, we’re looking forward to what next season will bring."
Gray-Withers, third Catherine Clifford and lead Zoe Cinammon were searching for a new second after parting ways with Lindsey Burgess earlier this month.
Walker will bring veteran guidance to a team that has excelled at the Under-25 level and has been on the rise in the rankings. The rink is ranked No. 20 in the world, fifth in Canada, and won the Grand Slam of Curling's U25 title and Curling Canada's U25 NextGen Classic this season.
The 35-year-old Walker, who lives in Edmonton and is originally from Scarborough, Ont., had been focusing on mixed doubles with Kirk Muyres. The pair announced Sunday that they were splitting up after eight years.
Walker had also filled in on Kaitlyn Lawes's team, including the Scotties Tournament of Hearts earlier this year, as second Jocelyn Peterman was preparing for the Olympic Winter Games. The team earned the silver medal after falling to Kerri Einarson in the final.
