Alberta skip Kevin Koe has added Johnson Tao to his roster for next season, the team announced Thursday.
Tao takes over for Tyler Tardi, who parted ways with Team Koe last week to skip out of Saskatchewan with Colton Flasch, Kevin Marsh and Daniel Marsh.
Koe's lineup also includes Aaron Sluchinski and Karrick Martin.
The 23-year-old Tao, who is originally from Richmond, B.C., is a former skip and finished runner-up to Koe during provincial playdowns this season.

Tao had a stellar junior career, winning gold medals at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships and the World Junior-B Curling Championships in 2023. He also earned a bronze medal at the U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships in 2024 while skipping for the Alberta Golden Bears.
Koe, who is No. 17 in the world rankings, is coming off a silver medal result at the Montana's Brier earlier this month in St. John's, N.L. His team lost 6-3 to Manitoba's Matt Dunstone after an incredible undefeated run leading up to the final.
The 51-year-old Koe is a two-time world and four-time Brier champion. He has also won six Grand Slam titles, including five as a skip.
