Four-time world champion and Olympic silver medallist Silvana Tirinzoni has called it a career.

The Swiss skip announced her retirement from curling on Wednesday.

Vice skip Alina Pätz and lead Selina Witschonke are exploring their options together, while second Carole Howald has opted to focus on mixed doubles and Rock League. Howald captured the inaugural Rock League championship this past weekend with Shield Curling Club.

Tirinzoni won four consecutive gold medals at the World Women's Curling Championship from 2019-23. She also earned back-to-back silver medals in 2024 and 2025.

The team earned silver at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 in February. Less than a week later, Tirinzoni competed in Swiss nationals and lost to Xenia Schwaller's team in the final. Schwaller went on to capture gold at the World Women's Curling Championship in March.

Tirinzoni claimed seven Grand Slam of Curling women's championships, including back-to-back titles this season at the HearingLife Canadian Open and the Crown Royal Players' Championship. She became the first skip in either division to win three consecutive Players' titles.

Her world No. 1 team competed in all five Grand Slam women's finals this season and six straight when stretching back to last year.

After winning the Players' in January, Tirinzoni hinted in an interview with The Curling Group's Devin Heroux that she might have played in her final Grand Slam event.
