Canada beat the buzzer to capture gold in wheelchair curling at the Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina.
With their thinking time winding down and shot rock inconclusive in a tied game, Canadian skip Mark Ideson wasn't going to let a measurement decide Saturday's final against China.
Ideson released his last rock with only 2.8 seconds remaining to tap his team's other stone into the four-foot circle, leaving no doubt as Canada claimed the 4-3 victory.
It's the fourth Paralympic gold medal and first since 2014 for Canada. The team earned bronze at PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022.

The team of Ideson, third Jon Thurston, second Ina Forrest, lead Collinda Joseph, and alternate Gilbert Dash finished the tournament with an unblemished 11-0 record.
After topping the round-robin table, Canada needed a steal of three points in the eighth end to come from behind to defeat Korea 8-7 in Friday's semifinals.
China entered the tournament as the double defending champions, having won gold at PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022.
