Delaney Strouse is taking a break from the sport.
The reigning U.S. women's champions announced on social media Tuesday that Strouse will be stepping back from competitive curling for now.
Third Anne O'Hara and second Sydney Mullaney plan to continue to play together, while lead Madison Bear is moving on.
"We’re proud of everything this team accomplished together — from the highs on the ice to the friendships built along the way," the team said in the announcement. "While this chapter is coming to a close, we’re thankful for the memories, experiences and support we’ve received throughout the journey."
Strouse won her first national women's title in March, defeating Elizabeth Cousins 9-6 in the final. The team represented the U.S. at the World Women's Curling Championship later that month in Calgary and missed the playoffs with a 2-10 record.
They finished the season ranked No. 42 in the world.
Strouse, 25, won the U.S. junior title twice and earned bronze at the World Junior Curling Championships in 2022. She also skipped the U.S. to bronze at the 2023 Winter Universiade.
