Toronto skip John Epping found himself in the winner’s circle twice Sunday at the Shorty Jenkins Classic in Cornwall, Ont.

Epping captured the men’s title for a fifth time after his team defeated Yannick Schwaller’s Swiss squad 6-3 in Sunday’s final.

The victory came after Epping helped coach Xenia Schwaller, Yannick’s cousin, and her Swiss team to the women’s title with an 8-5 win over Madeleine Dupont’s team from Denmark.

Epping finished the tournament with an unblemished 8-0 record.

Xenia Schwaller also posted a perfect streak on the women’s side at 7-0 to earn her second title of the season. Her team kicked off the season by winning the Oslo Cup two weeks ago in Norway and is sporting an impressive 16-1 record overall.

JACOBS A-OK IN OKOTOKS

Calgary’s Team Jacobs claimed the ATB Okotoks Classic title following a 5-4 victory over Team Shuster of the United States in Sunday’s final in Okotoks, Alta.

Facing two with the game tied in the eighth end, skip Brad Jacobs drew to the tee line in the four-foot circle to secure the winning point.

Jacobs completed an undefeated 6-0 run through his crew’s first event of the season.

Meanwhile, John Shuster’s club reached its second straight final after capturing the Oslo Cup.

TIRINZONI TAKES TITLE IN BASEL

Team Tirinzoni picked up where it left off from last season to win the Women's Masters Basel in Basel, Switzerland.

The Swiss squad topped Italy’s Team Constantini 7-3 during Sunday’s final.

Team Tirinzoni, which finished last season by claiming a second straight Players’ Championship title, won six consecutive games en route to the trophy in Basel.

LAWES IN VICTORY LANE AT SAVILLE GP

Winnipeg's Team Lawes finished first at the Saville Grand Prix in Edmonton.

With third Selena Njegovan calling the game, Team Lawes defeated South Korea's Team Park 7-3 in Sunday's final.

Team Lawes completed the event with a 6-1 record. After losing 5-2 to South Korea's Team Gim during round-robin play, Team Lawes took the rematch in the semifinals 5-3.
