Magnus Ramsfjell’s team will have a revamped look next season with a five-man roster.
The Norwegian team announced its new lineup Tuesday on social media, with Steffen Walstad and Mathias Braenden joining the club.
"Having a five-man roster will allow us to try out what works best for this team, as well as provide a good sports/work/life balance," Team Ramsfjell said in the post. "See you on the ice."
Changes were expected for Team Ramsfjell — which also includes third Martin Sesaker and second Bendik Ramsfjell — as lead Gaute Nepstad stepped back earlier this month.
The team won a Grand Slam of Curling Tier 2 title this past season at the HearingLife Canadian Open. They also represented Norway at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina and just missed the podium, losing to Switzerland’s Team Schwaller in the bronze medal game.
Although Andreas Hårstad’s crew competed for Norway at the World Men’s Curling Championship, Ramsfjell tagged along as the alternate and stepped in after the team got out to a slow start. Norway finished last with a 0-12 record.
Walstad skipped Norway at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing and has also represented the country four times at the men's worlds. He finished runner-up at the 2017 Tour Challenge in his Grand Slam of Curling debut.
Braenden, who has played for Hårstad and Walstad, competed for Norway at the men's and mixed doubles world championships this year. He earned bronze at the mixed doubles worlds in 2023.
