
LONDON, Ont. — The AMJ Masters playoff picture is now set after Team Brad Jacobs and Team Yannick Schwaller advanced out of the tiebreaker stage.
Jacobs eliminated Team Mike McEwen 5-2 in a clash of Canadian teams, and Schwaller ousted Sweden's Team Niklas Edin 7-5 Saturday morning.
Both teams have a tight turnaround, though, with the men's quarterfinals up next at 11:30 a.m. ET / 8:30 a.m. PT at the Western Fair Sports Centre.
Schwaller will take on defending champion Team Ross Whyte of Scotland, and Jacobs goes up against Italy's Team Retornaz.
Canada's Team Matt Dunstone meets Norway's Team Magnus Ramsfjell and Canada's Team John Epping plays Scotland's Team Bruce Mouat in the other two quarterfinal matchups.
There were no tiebreakers on the women's side, with their quarterfinals (3:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 p.m. PT) set following the conclusion of round-robin play.
Canada's Team Rachel Homan faces Japan's Team Momoha Tabata; Team Anna Hasselborg plays Team Isabella Wranå in a battle between Swedish squads; Team Silvana Tirinzoni takes on Team Xenia Schwaller in an all-Swiss showdown; and Team Eun-jung Kim collides with Team Eun-ji Gim in a matchup of South Korean clubs.
The men's and women's semifinals are also scheduled for Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT).
