VICTORIA, BC (July 10, 2026) With just over three months to go until the GSOC Invitational, the Grand Slam of Curling today announced 12 men's and 12 women's teams set to compete at the season-opening event, taking place October 13–18, 2026, at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, B.C.

Fresh off an Olympic cycle, the GSOC Invitational marks the start of a new season and a new chapter for many of the sport's top athletes. The first 12 teams in both the men's and women's fields have been confirmed through the invitation process, featuring a mix of established champions, rising stars, hometown favourites, and veteran players embarking on new team lineups.

The remaining four berths in each men’s and women’s fields will be determined by the outcome of GSOC Satellite Events, where champions from designated partner events earn an automatic entry into the GSOC Invitational. If the winning team has already qualified for the Slam, the invitation will pass to the runner-up or the highest-placed semi-finalist. See here for more information regarding the Satellite Events qualification processes.

The hometown crowds will have many reasons to cheer, with Victoria’s own Team Reese-Hansen and the new-look Team MacMillan both competing in the women’s competition.

“It's hard to put into words how special it is to have your friends, family, sponsors, and hometown community cheering you on,” said skip Taylor Reese-Hansen. “Victoria has played such a big role in our journey, and every time we've had the chance to compete here, the support and energy from the crowd has given us an extra gear.”
