Stefania Constantini's rink was officially selected as Team Italy for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, with one longtime player missing from the roster.

The host nation announced its curling lineups for next month's Winter Olympics, with the women's team featuring Constantini, Elena Mathis, Giulia Zardini Lacedelli, Marta Lo Deserto and Rebecca Mariani, who was selected over front-ender Angela Romei.

Romei, 28, has represented Italy at six world championships and nine European championships. She claimed silver at the Euros in 2023 and bronze in 2017.

Team Constantini slipped to 28th in the world rankings after starting the season in 16th. The Cortina-based club competed in three Grand Slam of Curling events this season, missing the playoffs at the AMJ Masters and HearingLife Canadian Open and reaching the quarterfinals at the CO-OP Tour Challenge.

Zardini Lacedelli skipped the squad to a semifinal finish at the Mercure Perth Masters in Scotland earlier this month, with Mariani throwing lead stones.

The 19-year-old Mariani skipped Italy to a 2-7 record, finishing last in 10th place, at the 2025 World Junior Curling Championships, which took place at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium. She is the daughter of Marco Mariani, who is Italian curling's technical director.

Constantini and Amos Mosaner are also expected to compete in the mixed doubles tournament in Cortina. The pair captured Italy's first gold medal in curling four years ago in Beijing. They reunited last year to win gold at the World Mixed Curling Championships.

Mixed doubles kicks off Olympic coverage on Feb. 4 and runs until Feb. 10, with the women's tournament beginning Feb. 12.
