The Grand Slam of Curling has revealed the new points structure that will determine qualification for its final event next season.
Teams will accumulate points based on their results across the Grand Slam of Curling and Satellite Events during the fall, which will count toward entry for the GSOC Players' Cup.
The fifth and final Grand Slam of Curling event of the season will take place Dec. 15-20 at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston, Ontario, and feature the top 12 men’s teams and top 12 women’s teams from the new ranking system.
The GSOC Players' Cup, formerly known as the Players' Championship, used the World Curling Team Rankings for entry in past seasons. The new system will only affect qualification for the Players' Cup next season; other Grand Slam of Curling events will continue to rely on the World Curling Team Rankings where applicable.

The Grand Slam of Curling season begins with the GSOC Invitational, Oct. 13-18, in Victoria.
True to its name, 12 men's teams and 12 women's teams will receive invitations to compete in the GSOC Invitational. These invites are at the discretion of the GSOC Competition Committee, who will consider top-tier teams, public interest and marketability (including newly formed teams and those with local appeal), international representation, plus emerging storylines and up-and-coming teams for selection. Four teams in both divisions will also qualify via Satellite Events to round out the 16-team fields.
The Grand Slam of Curling has partnered with established tour events to provide more avenues for teams to qualify for its tournaments. More information on the Satellite Events can be found by clicking here.
Entry for the GSOC Masters, GSOC National and GSOC Open events will be determined via World Curling Team Rankings (12 teams), GSOC/sponsor invites (two teams) and GSOC Satellite Events qualification (two teams).
