John Shuster will represent the home side at the World Men's Curling Championship.
Shuster and his team were victorious at the USA Curling national championships, defeating Team Andrew Stopera 7-6 in an extra end during Sunday's final in Charlotte, N.C.
The team of Shuster, third Chris Plys, second Colin Hufman and lead Matt Hamilton will now compete at the World Men's Curling Championship, March 27-April 4, in Ogden, Utah.
Shuster, who is No. 9 in the world rankings, lost just once during the week. After posting a perfect 7-0 round-robin record, Shuster fell to Stopera 7-6 in the Page 1-2 playoff game. The 2018 Olympic gold medallist Shuster bounced back and doubled up on Team Kevin Tuma 10-5 in the semifinal to reach the championship game.
Stopera has skipped since December when Korey Dropkin stepped back to focus on mixed doubles leading up to the Olympic Winter Games.
