Sayaka Yoshimura is hanging up her curling shoes.

Yoshimura announced on social media Wednesday that she is retiring from competitive curling.

Team Yoshimura finished third at the Japanese Curling Championships earlier this month to conclude the season.

The 34-year-old from Sapporo captured the national title three times and represented Japan at the Olympic Winter Games this year in Milano Cortina.

Her team competed in all five Grand Slam of Curling events this past season and was one of three Japanese women's clubs to reach the semifinals at the HearingLife Canadian Open in December.

Yoshimura became the first player to skip a Japanese team in a Grand Slam final at the 2019 Masters, finishing runner-up to Tracy Fleury's team. She was also a finalist at the GSOC's Tour Challenge Tier 2 event in 2018 and 2024.
