Benjamin Kapp will handle the reins of the German men's national team next season.

The new Team Kapp was announced Friday on social media. Kapp will skip alongside third Felix Messenzehl, second Johannes Scheuerl and lead Mario Trevisiol.

Kapp, Messenzehl and Scheuerl had played on tour with skip Marc Muskatewitz, who announced last month that he was stepping back from the team but will continue to play in Rock League. All three have moved up one spot in the lineup with former alternate Trevisiol promoted to a full-time role.

The four players were junior teammates and earned the silver medal at the 2023 World Junior Curling Championships.

After linking up with Muskatewitz, they surprised the curling world by capturing gold at the 2024 European Curling Championships, becoming the first German men's team to win the event in 20 years.

Team Muskatewitz competed in seven top-tier Grand Slam of Curling tournaments over the past two seasons and qualified for the playoffs three times.

They represented Germany at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina and finished seventh with a 4-5 record.
