Brent Laing did it all in curling, qualifying for the 2018 Olympics with Team Koe and going a perfect three-for-three at World Championships, winning in 2007, 2012, and 2016. Mainly as part of the famed Team Howard, Laing played in 16 Brier championships and ranks in the top-10 in both games played and games won. He’s also a former Canadian Mixed Doubles champion with Jennifer Jones — his partner both on the ice and in real life — and a two-time World Junior champion, winning with John Morris in 1998 and 1999.
Winning 16 Grand Slam titles in his playing career, when Laing turned to broadcasting upon retirement, it was not surprising he started with the Grand Slam of Curling, having been a staple of their streaming coverage since 2024. He has also called the TCG All-Star Game for Sportsnet, and has been the voice of the Canadian Club Championships over the past several years. Laing will make his live television debut as part of The Curling Group’s broadcast team for the 2026-27 season.
