Thiessen, Murdoch participate in Ice Bucket Challenge

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has flooded social media and continues to make its way around the curling world.

The latest curler to accept the challenge is Team Morris lead (and Grand Slam of Curling blogger) Nolan Thiessen.

Watch below as Thiessen receives an ice-cold waterfall.

The Ice Bucket Challenge was inspired by former Boston College baseball player and ALS patient Pete Frates to help raise awareness of the disease. Participants are encouraged to challenge others to complete the feat, which has helped it spread around the sports world from Julian Edleman to Sidney Crosby, P.K. Subban, Gary Bettman, members of the U.S. men’s basketball team and many more.

Curling skips Brad Jacobs, Mike McEwen and Reid Carruthers have also taken the plunge.

Across the Atlantic, David Murdoch from Scotland received a double dose of an ice-cold shower while at the rink.
