Team Scheidegger sticking together for next year
The reigning Alberta champions will be back next season.
Casey Scheidegger’s team announced Saturday on social media they’re sticking together.
The Lethbridge, Alta., crew features Scheidegger, third Cary-Anne McTaggart, second Jessie Scheidegger and lead Kristie Moore.
“We’ve had a great couple years together and we aren’t done yet,” the team wrote in a Twitter post. “Excited to announce we will be sticking together.”

Scheidegger had a breakout season in 2016-17 winning three World Curling Tour titles to rise up the ranks and receive an invitation to the Meridian Canadian Open, her first elite-level Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling tournament. Team Scheidegger shocked the field to capture their first Grand Slam championship stealing in the eighth end of the final over Silvana Tirinzoni’s team from Switzerland.
The 30-year-old Scheidegger captured her first career provincial title in January to represent Alberta at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. The team finished with a 7-4 record, fifth place in the championship pool, and just missed the playoffs by one spot.
Scheidegger was also a runner-up at the Boost National earlier this season and went 3-5 through the Roar of the Rings Canadian Olympic curling trials.
