TORONTO — Calgary’s Kevin Koe won the Players’ Championship men’s title defeating Niklas Edin of Sweden 6-2 in Sunday’s final at Ryerson’s Mattamy Athletic Centre.

Here’s how it all went down.

1ST END (12:50 p.m. ET): Koe, undefeated at 7-0, started with the hammer and hit and rolled out with Edin’s lone stone in the house to put bagels on the board. KOE 0, EDIN 0

2ND END (1:08 p.m. ET) Direct hit! Koe connected with a thin double takeout to crack open the scoring with a deuce. KOE 2, EDIN 0

3RD END (1:28 p.m. ET) Edin was seeing red looking at five counters in the house and forced to draw for one. The reigning world champion landed on the lid. KOE 2, EDIN 1

4TH END (1:46 p.m. ET) Koe’s got the touch and had the power to push back Edin’s two rocks and keep his shooter to count for a single. KOE 3, EDIN 1

5TH END (2:06 p.m. ET) Trouble? What trouble? Koe’s last stone possibly picked but it curled enough to freeze out Edin from scoring a bunch. Edin drew for one with third Oskar Eriksson jumping up to help drag it to the button. KOE 3, EDIN 2

6TH END (2:29 p.m. ET) Koe capitalized after Edin’s came up short, angling one of his own to take out the counter and score another deuce. KOE 5, EDIN 2

7TH END (2:45 p.m. ET) That’s the game! Edin looked to score two but jammed and gave up a steal. KOE 6, EDIN 2

Later, Winnipeg’s Jennifer Jones goes up against American Jamie Sinclair in the women’s final at 5 p.m. ET on Sportsnet One.
