Bruce Korte wins inaugural Masters of Curling title

GANDER, N.L. — Saskatoon’s Team Bruce Korte captured the inaugural Masters of Curling title with a 7-4 victory over Winnipeg’s Team Jeff Stoughton during Sunday’s final at the Gander Community Centre.

Team Korte earned $25,000 with the victory.

The triple knockout event featured a “battle of the sexes” with Kelley Law from B.C. competing in the 24-team field. Law, set to represent Canada at the upcoming Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, defeated John Boland and Neil Power before falling to Ken Park in the C-bracket.
