Epping keeping Fanset, Janssen & March

After reaching the playoffs at the Players’ Championship this past weekend, the recently-formed Team Epping is sticking together for next season.

The Toronto rink announced their lineup on Wednesday, consisting of skip John Epping, third Travis Fanset, second Patrick Janssen and lead Tim March.

Fanset, Janssen and March previously played with Mark Kean’s team but parted ways during this past season. Fanset slid over into the skip role with Chad Allen coming on board when they competed in the Grand Slam of Curling’s Syncrude National last month. The team finished 0-5 in round-robin play.

Fanset returned to third for the season-ending Slam event, the Players’ Championship, with two-time Slam winner Epping guiding the way at skip.

The new Team Epping gelled together quickly and qualified for the playoffs with a 3-2 record, including wins over Olympic gold medallist Brad Jacobs and 2013 world champion Niklas Edin. They fell to eventual champion Kevin Martin in the quarterfinals.
