Braeden Moskowy leaving Team Carruthers

Reid Carruthers is searching for a new third for next season.

The Winnipeg club announced Tuesday on social media that vice skip Braeden Moskowy will be leaving the squad.

Moskowy joined the revamped Team Carruthers in 2014 and captured two Manitoba championships, one Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling title and a Canada Cup during the quadrennial. The 27-year-old from Regina skipped Saskatchewan to the Canadian junior championship in 2011.

Team Carruthers also includes second Derek Samagalski and lead Colin Hodgson.

The news fell on the same day as fellow Winnipeg crew Team McEwen announced they were disbanding at the end of the season after 11 years together. Skip Mike McEwen, third B.J. Neufeld, second Matt Wozniak and lead Denni Neufeld have won six championships in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling.

Both teams will compete at the Princess Auto Elite 10 in their hometown starting Thursday at St. James Civic Centre.
